# HubSpot Service Hub review

> What HubSpot Service Hub costs once the AI is switched on, how its plans and billing units work, where your data is hosted, and who it fits. Scored on a published rubric, with every figure sourced.

Published: 19 September 2026 · Updated: 19 September 2026 · Prices and figures verified: 18 September 2026 · By the help-desk.reviews team

This page was researched and drafted with AI assistance from the sources listed on it. We have not run hands-on tests of these products. Method: [How we review](https://help-desk.reviews/en-gb/how-we-review)

HubSpot Service Hub is the customer service part of HubSpot's CRM: ticketing, shared inboxes, live chat, calling, a knowledge base and a customer portal, all on the same contact records as HubSpot's marketing and sales tools. Seats cost US$7 (Starter), US$90 (Professional) and US$150 (Enterprise) per seat per month on an annual commitment. Professional and Enterprise also require one-time onboarding at US$1,500 and US$3,500. The Breeze Customer Agent costs US$0.50 per resolved conversation, paid in HubSpot Credits.

**Bottom line**

- **Best for:** Teams already on HubSpot's CRM that want support tickets on the same customer records as sales and marketing
- **Not for:** Teams that want a standalone help desk without onboarding fees, or that need a UK data region
- **Price from:** US$7 per agent per month
- **The catch:** The advertised prices leave things out. Professional and Enterprise need one-time onboarding (US$1,500 and US$3,500), the Starter price of US$7 assumes an annual commitment against US$20 month to month, and the included credits cover only about 60 AI resolutions a month on Professional. If you hold other HubSpot hubs at a higher tier, every Core Seat is priced at that tier.

## Score breakdown

**Score: 7.5/10**

| Criterion | Weight | Level | What it means |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| True cost with AI on | 30% | 3/5 | From US$100 to under US$150 per agent per month. Computed: US$112 per agent per month at 10 agents. |
| Pricing transparency | 20% | 4/5 | Plan prices and AI prices are public, but the billable unit, the minimums or the overage rules are not fully defined in writing. |
| AI, as documented | 15% | 5/5 | Everything in level 4, plus a published statement on whether customer data trains AI models and which AI sub-processors are used. |
| Access and switching | 10% | 2/5 | Self-serve trial, but paid plans carry a mandatory onboarding fee or a seat minimum above three. |
| Channels and languages | 10% | 5/5 | Email, live chat, a help centre, native phone and native messaging, with the agent interface documented in both German and Spanish. |
| Data protection and compliance | 15% | 4/5 | A data processing agreement, SOC 2 or ISO 27001, and EU data hosting available on self-serve plans. |

> **Scored on a public rubric, from prices and documents you can open.** Every score on this site comes from six published criteria: true cost with AI on, pricing transparency, AI as documented, access and switching, channels and languages, and data protection. The cost level is arithmetic on the vendor's list prices. Each price comes from one product database and links to its source, so every page agrees with every other page. The order of our lists is set by our editors and does not always follow the score. Rubric v1.0 · Scores rate list prices and public documentation. **Strengths**

- Tickets, chats and calls sit on the same CRM records as HubSpot's marketing and sales data, with no sync to maintain.
- A free plan for up to 2 users, and Starter from US$7 per seat per month on annual commitment.
- Native calling is included: 500 minutes a month on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 12,000 on Enterprise, plus WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
- The Customer Agent is billed only for resolutions, at US$0.50 each, and Professional and Enterprise include monthly credits that pay for the first ones.
- EU hosting in Germany on any paid subscription, and the interface in 17 languages including German and Spanish.

**Weaknesses**

- Mandatory one-time onboarding: US$1,500 on Professional and US$3,500 on Enterprise.
- Starter has no Customer Agent, knowledge base, SLAs or workflows; those start at Professional, a jump from US$7 to US$90 per seat.
- Enterprise is annual only, and seats cannot be reduced below the contracted commitment during the term.
- AI features pause when the monthly credits run out unless you have bought extra credits or turned on pay-as-you-go.
- HubSpot does not hold ISO 27001 itself (only its cloud providers do), there is no UK data region, and free-only accounts are hosted in the US.

## Pricing

Service Hub is priced per seat: Starter US$7, Professional US$90 and Enterprise US$150 per seat per month on an annual commitment, or US$20 and US$100 month to month; Enterprise is billed annually only. HubSpot's German site lists the same figures in euros. Professional and Enterprise require one-time onboarding for US$1,500 and US$3,500, so the first year costs more than the seat price suggests; Starter has no onboarding fee. Usage-based features, including the Customer Agent, draw on HubSpot Credits: 500, 3,000 or 5,000 are included per account each month, and extra credits cost US$10 per 1,000 (US$9 when paid annually). HubSpot's pricing page loads its prices by script, so we cross-checked every figure against HubSpot's own Service Hub pricing guide and its legal Product & Services Catalog.

| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Key limits and included AI |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | — | — | Up to 2 users, one inbox, basic ticketing, live chat and simple bots. No included credits, and data is hosted in the US. |
| Starter | US$7 per agent per month | US$20 per agent per month | Core Seats, conversation routing, 500 calling minutes a month and 15 pipelines. 500 credits a month and Breeze Assistant; no Customer Agent, knowledge base, SLAs or workflows. |
| Professional | US$90 per agent per month | US$100 per agent per month | Help desk workspace, one knowledge base of up to 2,000 articles, customer portal, SLAs, up to 1,000 workflows and 3,000 calling minutes. 3,000 credits a month and the Customer Agent. Onboarding of US$1,500 is required. |
| Enterprise | US$150 per agent per month | — | Annual only. Up to 100 knowledge bases with 10,000 articles, skills-based routing, conditional SLAs, custom permission sets, SAML single sign-on and 12,000 calling minutes. 5,000 credits a month. Onboarding of US$3,500 is required. |

HubSpot Service Hub: entry tier is Starter, mid tier is Professional, top tier is Enterprise, all on annual commitment. Breeze Assistant is included with every seat. Customer Agent resolutions cost US$0.50 each; on Professional the 3,000 included credits divided by 50 credits a resolution cover the first 60 a month, and on Enterprise the first 100, assuming no other feature uses credits. Starter has no Customer Agent. The one-time onboarding fees are not included. ## AI features and how they are billed

HubSpot sells AI in two ways. Breeze Assistant, which helps agents write and summarise, comes with every Core Seat, so there is no per-agent AI add-on. The Breeze Customer Agent answers customers on chat, email and forms and is paid in HubSpot Credits: each resolved conversation uses 50 credits, or US$0.50. HubSpot counts a resolution when the agent provided support and the conversation was not handed to a person for 72 hours; qualifying a lead can also count. Included credits are spent first (3,000 a month on Professional, 5,000 on Enterprise, shared with every other credit-based feature), then paid credits. When credits run out, AI features pause until the next reset unless you have bought capacity packs or turned on pay-as-you-go, which is billed monthly in arrears in steps of 10 credits and has been the default for credit purchases since 16 September 2026. HubSpot sets an account spend limit at 150% of the monthly credits. Capacity packs can only be reduced at the end of the term. A voice version of the Customer Agent is in beta at US$0.50 per minute. ## Data hosting and compliance

HubSpot hosts data in the US, the EU (Germany, on AWS), Canada and Australia; paid accounts are assigned a region by sign-up location and existing paid customers can move at no charge, but free-only accounts stay in the US and there is no UK region. HubSpot publishes a SOC 3 report, shares its SOC 2 Type 2 report through its trust centre and offers a GDPR data processing agreement; a HIPAA business associate agreement comes with the Sensitive Data Terms, which need Enterprise and switch off several AI features. HubSpot says its AI providers, such as OpenAI, may not train on your data, but HubSpot itself may use it to improve its own models unless an admin opts out; see its [AI infrastructure FAQ](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/hubspot-ai-cloud-infrastructure-frequently-asked-questions).

> **For buyers in the United Kingdom:** A help desk holds your customers' personal data, so UK GDPR requires a written contract with the vendor. Hosting outside the UK, including in the EU, is a restricted transfer that needs its own safeguard. And since 19 June 2026 you must let people complain about how you use their data and acknowledge each complaint within 30 days. ## Vendor claims vs named-customer figures

| Figure | What it measures | Who says so | Source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 70% | Average Customer Agent resolution rate claimed on HubSpot's product page | HubSpot — Vendor claim | [Source](https://www.hubspot.com/products/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-service-agent) |
| 90% | Resolution rate HubSpot says its "top teams" reach with the Customer Agent | HubSpot — Vendor claim | [Source](https://www.hubspot.com/products/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-service-agent) |
| 37% | Improvement in ticket closure rates HubSpot says customers see after one year | HubSpot — Vendor claim | [Source](https://www.hubspot.com/products/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-service-agent) |
| 85% | Share of Synergym's support requests the Customer Agent resolves, per a named manager quoted on HubSpot's site | Synergym — Named customer, published by the vendor | [Source](https://www.hubspot.com/products/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-service-agent) |
| 77% | Reduction in tickets Nutribees' support team handles, per its CMO quoted on HubSpot's site | Nutribees — Named customer, published by the vendor | [Source](https://www.hubspot.com/products/artificial-intelligence/credits) |
| 3 | Hours ISSA cut from its first response time ("over" this figure), from a headline on HubSpot's site | ISSA — Named customer, published by the vendor | [Source](https://www.hubspot.com/products/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-service-agent) |

All of these figures come from HubSpot's own pages. The named customers are quoted by name and role, but the quotes are short testimonials rather than full case studies, and the ISSA figure is a headline only. HubSpot's average resolution rate is not defined beyond its own resolution rule, so it is not comparable with other vendors' rates.

## Verdict

Service Hub makes most sense for a team already running on HubSpot's CRM: support, sales and marketing share one record, and the Customer Agent is charged only when it resolves a conversation. As a standalone help desk it is harder to justify, because the useful features start at Professional, which carries an onboarding fee, and the included credits cover only a small AI volume. Yes, on any paid subscription: HubSpot runs an EU data centre in Germany and assigns it by sign-up location, and existing paid customers can move at no charge. Free-only accounts are hosted in the US, and AI features may send data to providers in other locations. See [help desks with EU data hosting](https://help-desk.reviews/en-gb/best/with-eu-data-residency).
