Principles

  • Say only what we can source. Every price, percentage and product claim links to where it came from.
  • Say what we did not do. We do not describe desk research as testing.
  • Keep claims and evidence apart. A vendor's number is labelled as the vendor's number.
  • One question, one page. We do not publish two pages that answer the same question, so they can never disagree.
  • Answer first. Each page opens with the conclusion, then shows the reasoning.
  • Write plainly. If a sentence needs jargon, we define it.

Sourcing

We prefer primary sources: pricing pages, billing documentation, legal terms, security pages, regulatory texts and named-customer case studies. We use independent press, filings and analyst data to test vendor claims. A vendor's content is never used as evidence about a competitor. Each source shows the date we last read it. The full method is on How we review.

Prices and currencies

Prices appear in the currency the vendor publishes and are never converted by us. Every price shown in a sentence, table or chart is drawn from one product database, so it is identical on every page and in every language. Estimates in the calculator are labelled as estimates and state their assumptions.

Independence

Every product is scored with the same published rubric, and its score is shown next to it. The order of our lists is set by our editors and does not always follow the score; How we review explains this. We do not accept payment for placement, do not publish sponsored reviews and do not use affiliate links. If the publisher's own product appears, it is labelled and scored by the same rules, and we expect readers to weigh that disclosure for themselves.

Language editions

The site is published in US English, UK English, German and Spanish. All editions are generated from the same product database, so prices, scores and rankings are identical in every language. Each edition adds guidance written for its market, such as the law that applies, whether a product's agent interface is available in the local language, and whether the vendor publishes a local-currency price list.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to research and draft pages from cited sources, and we say so on every page. AI-drafted text is held to the same sourcing rules as anything else: no source, no claim. Pages are published under the name of the help-desk.reviews team, which is responsible for every one of them.

Our guides describe laws and regulator guidance in plain language and link to the official texts. They are general information, not legal advice, and rules change. Check your own obligations with a qualified adviser.

Corrections

We correct confirmed errors promptly, in the product database where that applies, and record material corrections in the changelog. Vendors are welcome to send corrections with a link to a public source; we do not change scores on the basis of private assurances.

This page was researched and drafted with AI assistance from the sources listed on it. We have not run hands-on tests of these products. Method: How we review
